Melanie Peterman
Hi! I’m Melanie Peterman, and I’m a graduating senior in SMU’s BFA Theatre (Acting) Class of 2022. Once I graduate, I hope to continue to work as an actor in the Dallas area, gaining as much knowledge and experience as possible. My two biggest passions in life are acting and teaching! My dream job would be working as an Actor/Teaching Artist with a professional theatre company. I especially love working with children and standing up for social justice in my community. Starting this summer 2022, I will be earning my Masters in Education with Certification at SMU’s Simmons School of Education.
SMU acting credits include: The Moors (Huldey), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Peter Quince), we the invisibles (Trish, DSK Lawyer), Montgomery (Kimmy, Rick Montgomery), and Small Mouth Sounds (Joan). SMU stage management credits include Lysistrata and A Boy’s Room. (In addition, I’ve worked with Kitchen Dog Theatre, Dallas Theater Center, Bishop Arts Theatre Center, Little Red Theatre Company, and New York‘s Theatre East.)
